Fast X Trailer Has The Internet Thirsting Over!

The trailer for Fast X has the entire internet talking about Jason Momoa's new villain, Dante. While the Fast and Furious franchise has a habit of going above and beyond (and exploding a few cars along the way), the trailer shows that the films are reaching a new height – and not just because of helicopters. With Momoa's villain being retconned into Fast Five, the franchise is finally going back to its roots.

Dante's first looks have already earned some strong reactions from the internet, with some responding about how Momoa encapsulates the vengeful villain and discussing some of his bizarre scenes, including Dante licking blood off his knife. Everything known about Fast X already indicated that the film would be massive, but nothing prepared Twitter for Momoa's villain. With that character alone, it is growing increasingly likely that the scale of the next Fast and Furious movie will be off the charts. Check out some of the tweets below:

Vin Diesel being held by Rita Morena's character in the Fast X trailer

Vin Diesel returns to helm Fast X, alongside Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Alan Ritchson, John Cena, and many more Hollywood stars. With so few films left in the Fast and the Furious saga, it seems that every major actor in the industry is interested in joining the family before the chance is gone forever. With every returning Fast and Furious character, the stakes are rising, and the risk of major deaths is mounting.

Director Louis Leterrier already hinted at the war the characters will be enduring, especially with Dante so hell-bent on getting his vengeance. Fast X promises the same explosions, races, and death-defying stunts that other iterations of Fast and Furious have offered. While Justin Lin - the director of many previous Fast and Furious installments - abandoned the project over creative differences, Leterrier appears to have adapted well into his directorial role.

Fast X is expected to release on May 19. With its massive budget of $340 million, it will be difficult for Fast X to earn as much profit as its predecessors, but it is almost certain that it will still be an extraordinary success. Fast X is one of the few movies that can compete with Avatar: The Way of Water in 2023 at the box office, and it will benefit from the internet's love of Dante.
